In order to promote research and development activities, the college extends its full support to students/faculty/staff. Full/Partial financial support is given to all innovative research & development works taken up by the students, faculty and staff members. The college encourages students, faculty and staff to participate in National/International Conferences, Training programmes, Tech-Festivals organized by reputed institutes by giving full/partial financial support viz. course/registration fee, TA/DA etc. Quality education in Pharmacy coupled with innovative research and development is absolutely essential towards the overall faculty development. Hindu College of Pharmacy provides an opportunity to faculty members from the parent University as well as from external Universities for carrying out doctoral programme in various specialization of Pharmacy to attain higher qualification in order to keep abreast with continuous developmental activities. Accordingly Institute promotes participation of faculty in innovative research by providing a conducive environment, necessary facilities and motivation..

The Research and Development Cell is functioning with the following objectives:


  • To create awareness and opportunities in Research and Development among the students & faculty and to create Research and Development atmosphere in every department;

  • To create interest and atmosphere among the staff members to take up Research projects and improve their knowledge, skills and qualifications by registering Ph. Ds;

  • To motivate the faculty members of the group for R&D activities in the area of their specialization;

  • To encourage staff members and students to publish technical papers for publishing in National and reputed International Conferences/Journals;

  • To encourage faculty members of all the disciplines in all specialization of Pharmacy in R&D activities for their professional growth;

  • To undertake research activities and development projects offered by agencies such as CSIR, DST, AICTE, UGC etc.

  • To assist the students to apply funding for conducting research under student project scheme to various funding agencies like etc.;

  • To assist for applying and getting funds for conducting Seminar/Workshop/FDP from various available funding agencies;

  • To facilitate the growth of research activity among the academic community, including developing mechanisms and targets to achieve this;

  • To develop and coordinate strategies for maximizing the faculty’s success in gaining external research funding;

  • To develop strategies to foster research collaborations within the faculty, across faculty and institutes, and with agencies outside the college;

  • To work with various departments to establish and develop faculty research priorities on interdisciplinary areas;

  • To interact with industry, government, professions and the wider community on all research matters promote faculty research activities to external stakeholders;

  • To coordinate faculty level workshops and staff development activities on research-related issues;

  • To encourage development of activities to attract the best research oriented higher degree students;

As a result of tireless efforts taken in the research activities, the college has to its credit many research publications in National and International peer reviewed Journals. The faculty members have also presented research papers in various reputed national and international conferences. More than 500 research papers have published since the inception of college It is noteworthy to mention here that out of total research papers published in international journals, many research papers have published in peer reviewed journals with impact factor.

An academic environment is created in the institution and necessary facilities are provided to encourage and carry out research. Not only the staff members but also the students have brought name to the institution by bagging several prizes. Every year more than 180 papers are published by the students and faculty members

Research Projects:

One of the important criteria to judge the performance of research output of the institution is to obtain recognition by reputed Government/Autonomous sponsoring agencies towards generation of funds to conduct quality research. The institute has received research grants from Govt. agencies . In addition to this, Hindu college of Pharmacy has also encouraged the faculty members to initiate research by giving the seed money to undertake various minor research projects.
